AeroPro Completes Paint for World’s Only Flying Eye Hospital

Last week, AeroPro completed a repaint of the world’s only Flying Eye Hospital, operated by Orbis, a non-profit organization.

The DC-10 aircraft, which takes doctors around the world to treat patients with curable blindness, houses a fully equipped ophthalmic hospital and a 48-seat classroom.

“We are extremely proud to have had the opportunity to be involved in a project like this,” said Joe Ermalovich, CEO of AeroPro, “Orbis’ mission is truly inspiring.”

AeroPro was chosen for the project due to its ability to meet critical schedule requirements and successfully apply AkzoNobel’s latest base coat/clear coat system at high levels of quality. AkzoNobel donated the paint for this project.

The new livery was applied at AeroPro’s facility in San Bernadino, California, before the aircraft was unveiled in Los Angeles.

AeroPro Successfully Completes US Head of State Aircraft

AeroPro recently completed its first aircraft for the US Presidential Airlift Group (PAG). The PAG, as well as AeroPro’s direct customer, Boeing Defense, were extremely pleased with the quality and timely completion of the project.

Successful control of debris, the hangar environment and the de-paint and painting processes enabled AeroPro to meet one of the most rigorous acceptance criteria in the aircraft painting world.

Aeropro has built its reputation on successful execution of repaint events for head of state aircraft and we are extremely proud to have the opportunity to work with the US PAG on these types of projects.
